INTRODUCTION I have been facinated by old trails since my early childhood. We lived in the mountains of north-centrail Idaho and western Montana, where there were many old trails. I would ask about every old trail I saw: where does it go? Who made ? Can we explore it? Can I explore it? As life went on, I got busy with a family and career and did not have time to devote to exploring old trails. However, I never lost the desire to explore them. That all changed as my career edged toward retirement and I started doing scholarly research on old aboribinal and historical trails. After retirement, I put my interest into high gear and started a major effort into trail research. To be continued.... |
